Great Mother

Text & Melodie: Christine (2010)

Text

Great mother, to thee I raise my voice
For you, great mother earth, I pray and sing
'Cause you're the end and the start of everything

Great Mother,
Your body is the ground on which we stand
And thy flesh is the earth from which we feed
Your blood are the waters in the rivers and streams
And your breath is the wind within the leaves

Great mother, to thee I raise my voice
For you, great mother earth, I pray and sing
'cause you're the end and the start of everything

Great Mother,
You're the highest mountain and the smallest stone
You're the little flower and the tallest tree
You're the deer in the woods and the fish in the sea
You're the gras on the hill and the birds in the tree

Great mother, to thee I raise my voice
For you, great mother earth I pray and sing
Cause you're the end, and the start of everything

Great Mother,
You're the Maiden, pure and full of youth
You're the Mother, fertile, fierce and strong
You're the Crone, the old witch that is easeful and wise
You are three, you are one. You're the circle of life

Great mother, to thee I raise my voice
For you, great mother earth I pray and sing
Cause you're the end, and the start of everything
